BOB WASHMON

In 1997, Bob Washmon decided that he’d had enough of the rat race.  Since 1984 he had been an in house landman, first with TXO Production Corp., then with Sonat Exploration Company, taking part in countless acquisitions and mergers, hiring brokers, and managing numerous assets.  He had achieved success and even stability in an industry that is anything but stable. However, it wasn’t what he had always dreamed of…

Since he was a child helping his grandfather work over shallow oil wells in the Van oil field, Bob had always wanted to own his own company in the oil and gas industry. His dad and uncles were all landmen, and before going in house, he was a field landman as well. So it made sense, although risky, to become a broker, just like the ones he was accustomed to hiring! That’s when BW Energy Consultants was born, and almost 20 years later the doors are still open.  Bob is happily married to Debbie Farmer Washmon, and has 2 daughters Emily Mills and Amy Freeman, and a son, Wade Washmon, who serves as vice president of BWEC. Bob has 8 grandchildren and enjoys hunting, fishing, picking the guitar, stand-up comedy, being a grandad, and most especially land work. Bob played football at the University of Texas and is a deacon at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler.

WADE WASHMON

After graduating from Baylor university in 2004, it didn’t take Wade long to join the family business. After all, he’d been surveying and helping out with land work every summer since he was a sophomore in high school. Once on board at BWEC, Wade learned as much as he could in the field, whether it was settling damages with surfaces owners, signing leases, or preparing runsheets and mineral ownership reports.

After honing his craft in the field and proving he was ready for more responsibilities, Wade was promoted to Vice President of the company in 2010. His responsibilities include hiring, managing projects, business development, and anything else that goes along with managing an oil and gas land brokerage. Wade is happily married to Ashley Jamieson Washmon and has a son, Vann, and a daughter Wynne. He enjoys hunting, fishing, singing, guitar, playing sports, fellowship with friends and making his kids laugh. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta at Baylor University, and is a member at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX. Wade also serves on the school board for Tyler ISD.
